The properties of biomass materials are recorded on various data bases. These include data on the biogas production from various feed materials.

The International Energy Authority have a Task Group: 37, looking at biogas. Their website http://www.iea-biogas.net/ includes a page of FAQ, which gives data on biogas production. This is based on a paper from the Swedish Gas Centre: Basic Data on Biogas: Sweden 2007

General properties of many different types of biomass can be found on a Dutch database: Phyllis. This does not give data on anarobic digestion, but does provide Ultimate Analysis, Biochemical composition and dry matter content of many materials.

One of the early books on anaerobic digestion, as suggested by David House, is Laboratory Studies of Sludge Digestion Buswell, A.M., and S.L. Neave, 1930 Illinois State Water Survey
